Earls Court is an inner-city area 5km south-west of Charing Cross, in London's Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. At the heart of it are Earls Court Road and the streets surrounding it. The Earls Court Exhibition Centre is a popular venue for concerts, and one of the biggest indoor arenas in the country. Many popular attractions are located close to Earls Court, such as Holland Park, the Royal Albert Hall, High Street Kensington, Imperial College, Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park, and the Science, Victoria and Albert, and Natural History museums. The local playhouse is Finborough Theatre, winner of multiple awards since its opening in 1980. Earl's Court tube station lies between Warwick Road and Earls Court Road, a London Underground station on the border of both Travelcard Zone One and Two. The station is on the Piccadilly Line, between Gloucester Road and Barons Court, and is a major District Line junction.
