Information:

The London IMAX is a 500-seat cinema housed in a stunning multi-storey, glass-enclosed cylindrical building, constructed in the centre of a traffic circle on Waterloo Road. At night it is illuminated, creating a contemporary beacon of inspiration for the South Bank District of London. At 20m high and 26m wide, it boasts Britain's largest screen. Other incredible elements are the 11,600-watt digital surround-sound system and the most sophisticated motion-picture projection system in the world, the IMAX projection system. The award-winning cinema is operated by the British Film Institute, and has a broad film programme that includes documentaries, old classics, foreign films and the latest Hollywood blockbusters. An Opera Programme, showcasing The Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live, high-definition performance transmissions, is also a permanent attraction. Waterloo mainline and Waterloo Underground stations are approximately 300m away, and a number of bus routes service the area, including 26, 68, 171 & RV1.
